The app is simple and stores as little as possible. Here’s exactly what it holds and why.

A note on names

When adding someone, use initials or a nickname - not her full name. The app doesn’t need it, and it’s a good habit when entering personal information into any app. “S” or “A” works just as well as a full name for the phase display.

What the app stores

WhatWhy
A name or initialsTo label the person’s card
Her last period start dateTo calculate the current cycle day
Cycle length (21–35 days)To determine phase boundaries
Your email addressOnly if you create an account

Nothing else. No messages, no notes, no location, no device identifiers.

Guest mode

If you use the app without creating an account, everything stays in your browser on your device only. Nothing is sent anywhere. The downside: clearing your browser storage or switching devices wipes your data. That’s the trade-off.

Why create an account?

Creating an account is a save button, not a subscription or marketing list. Your data syncs to a secure database so it survives a cleared browser or a new phone.

We don’t send you emails other than a login link if you forget your password. We don’t share your data. We don’t sell it. There’s no advertising. There’s no third-party analytics.

Who runs this

The Manual is an independent project, not a company. The backend is Supabase, an open-source database platform with its own privacy policy.
